Intimidated? Don't feel bad - most people are. The good news is that you are already ahead of the curve by taking the initiative to learn from the experts how to master the folding of the ever-frustrating fitted sheet.
Step 1: Tuck your hands into the corner seams and hold the sheet lengthwise in front of you.
One hand in one of the "head" corners, and one hand in one of the "foot" corners, on the same side of course. Make sure the sheet is inside out, with the interior seams and tag facing away from you.
Step 2: Fold the "head" corner over the "foot" corner.
Simply bring your hands together, then flip the corner over the other, leaving both corners over just one of your hands.
Step 3: Pick up the next corner...
This should be the other head corner. Tuck your hand into the corner seam as you did with the previous corners.
Step 4: Tuck this corner under the first two.
Simply tuck this corner underneath the first two corners you are still holding.
Step 5: Pick up the final corner...
Tuck your hand into the corner seam as you did with the previous corners.
Step 6: Tuck this corner under the other three.
Simply tuck this corner underneath the other three corners you are still holding in your other hand. Now all corners should be together.
Step 7: Grab the short side fold and give it a little shake to straighten.
Step 8: Lay your sheet flat and arrange the 'fitted' edge/corner into an L shape on the inside.
Smooth out your now square sheet and try to make it as wrinkle-free as possible.
Step 9: Keeping corners together, begin folding the sheet, keeping the fitted edges inside the rectangle/square bundle you are creating.
Folding into thirds or quarters works best, depending on the size of your sheet.
Step 10: Smooth, straighten, and store.
That's right - you've done it! Now just store neatly in a safe place, far away from anyone or anything that dare mess up your work of art.
