From cleaning to organization, we are all looking for little ways to make our life easier - am I right? We have compiled a top 10 list of our favorite household hacks that you are sure to want to share with your friends and family.
- Buy striped bed sheets. When putting on fresh sheets and no longer having to guess at long and short sides, you’ll thank us!
- Keep a towel (regular or paper) flat in the bottom of your trash can to collect any drips from rips or holes in the bag. While you’re at it, toss a scented dryer sheet down there too, to help offset the smell of your garbage.
- Attach a small Command Hook to each side of your garbage can, then slip the pull tie handles over them so your trash bag will stay in place.
- While you have that box of dryer sheets out, give your glass shower doors a quick scrub – you’ll be surprised how quickly and easily the soap scum comes right off! Want to get ahead of the game? Use Rain-X to repel future scum, spots, and streaks!
- Did you think we were done with those dryer sheets? Think again! After you’ve cleaned your baseboards, run a dryer sheet along the tops and sides to repel dust and dirt.
- Detach your shower head (it’s easier than you might think) and soak it in a tub of distilled vinegar overnight, and the buildup and residue will vanish!
- Want to clean the dirt and gunk off your screen door? Use a lint roller! Way faster, less messy, and more effective than using brushes or wash cloths.
- Your microwave will be much easier to clean if you heat a cup of water in it first. The steam of the water will loosen any food or particles that have splattered.
- Want to clean your oven but dread the chemicals that come with most oven cleaner solutions? Opt for a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser instead! Same cleaning results, less fumes and mess! (Oh, and steam a pot of water in there too before you get started to loosen up the grime, just like you did in your microwave!)
- Is anything in your kitchen more difficult to clean than the inside of your toaster? Not anymore! Grab a clean paintbrush and a bowl of dish soap, vinegar and hot water, and get to work! You’ll be able to angle the long bristles down along the sides and pop out any food particles that have gotten stuck over time. A toothbrush will work great for small areas, especially around the top.
